Online courses to help you keep your family safe
Take your personal safety & security in your own hands now
[Johannesburg, South Africa] As a South African, we live with crime on a daily basis – never knowing when it will hit closer to home. We all know someone who has become a victim of violent crimes such as carjackings, home invasions, kidnapping, murders or rapes – and somehow you would want to keep your family safe.
According to the 2020 South African Police Service Stats SA, murders remain high with 21 325 cases in 2020, a 1.4% increase from 2019, robbery with aggravating circumstances with 143 990 cases, an increase of 2.8% from 2019, sexual offences with 53 295 cases in 2020, a 1.7% increase from 2019 and carjacking increased by 13.3% from 2019 with 18 162 reported cases in 2020. According to Numbeo’s 2020 Crime Index, South Africa ranks as the third most unsafe country in the world.
At SSC Equity Training we want to empower ordinary South Africans to know what to do when they become victims of crime and to learn preventative strategies. We have created a website with affordable online courses you can complete from anywhere. On our Personal Safety & Security Online Course you will learn situational awareness, the principles of survival during home invasions, what to do if there is a shooting in the mall, how to react during a hijacking and much more.
These courses have been developed by a group of experts in the security industry, who between them, have over 70 years’ security experience. Aspects such as situational awareness, hijack prevention, survival strategies, and surviving during a home invasion and public spaces are all covered in the course.
A percentage of the proceeds from all SSC Legacy Group courses are given to Child Survivors of Crime (CSOC). The NPO provides support for children under the age of 18 who have been directly or indirectly affected by a criminal offence against them or their families in South Africa. Support is provided in the form of counselling, therapeutic intervention, education, alleviation of physical suffering and community re-integration. Children’s awareness of personal safety is also included.
SSC Equity Training is a Level 2 B-BBEE contributor with 26% black female ownership. We are part of the SSC Legacy Group managed by Howard Griffiths, a private investigator.
